Jordan’s Pond 6oct2016

Last day in Acadia. I can say I’m ready to go. Today I visited the center of the island and the northeast harbor. The day was perfect. Literally. 65 and sunny with no wind. Blue skies and water. I guess it must be the lack of pollution here that makes everything so vivid. Sometimes it feels as though I’m taking the same photo over and over.

I was lulled into a near nap on a bus completely packed with French speakers. Americans are so loud – like we want everyone within earshot to know our business. American people who are alone shout into their cellphones in order for everyone around to hear them. Most foreigners don’t do that in my experience. They speak in soft voices that induce comas. Me likey.

I believe I’ve told you about the buses. While waiting for one back to my campground I decided to give lobster one last chance. Yep. Still not my favorite. Oh well. The margaritas were superb and on happy hour! Cha-Ching!! I have met some really nice folks while waiting for various buses. We all agree that the bus system sucks and maybe if it wasn’t free it would be better. Maybe not. Beggars and choosers and all that.

Tomorrow I head back towards Bangor because I’ve arranged a Stephen King tour at 2pm on Saturday. I’m so excited. I’m reading The Dome – even though the tv series (which I don’t watch) is filmed in North Carolina. I doubt I’ll finish it before my tour – it’s like 600 pages! But it is good… Kind of reminds me of The Tommyknockers.

Tonight I’ll try to scare myself and then go for a dark walk to look at the stars. My idea of fun!
